We are looking for a Director – Direct & Integrated Marketing. Using their considerable skills and experience, the Director will create data driven strategies designed to optimize programs in the following areas: direct mail, integrated marketing, innovation, and the marketing programs run for relationship channels. While building on a strong base of supporters, the organization seeks to optimize, grow and expand our mass marketing efforts. An important part of this growth will come from the integrated marketing and innovation strategies which has become a focal point for Direct Marketing. Strengthening our strategies to support this work will be a key goal.

As Director – Direct & Integrated Marketing you will:

Strategy development and execution for Direct Marketing fundraising programs focused on one-time giving

  • Oversee Direct Marketing strategies and the team responsible for execution of tactics to achieve organizational fundraising goals
  • Lead the development and implementation of the National Direct Mail programs, for English and French Canada, including house renewal, acquisition, disaster donor conversion, high value and Blended Giving campaigns ($500-$9,999)
  • Integrate multichannel direct marketing tactics into the mail program to grow our base of multichannel donors and increase revenue

Lead the Integrated Marketing Strategy

  • Oversee multichannel direct and digital fundraising strategies and manage the team in execution of these tactics to achieve organizational fundraising goals
  • Facilitate effective cross-functional partnerships to drive the integration efforts, working with all internal teams and agencies involved in these efforts

Ownership of the budget, KPIs and reporting for the Direct Mail program

  • Establish the annual Direct Mail and Integrated Marketing budgets. Regularly complete budget projections, review all monthly, quarterly, annual reports and providing details on variances observed

Effective Management of staff

  • Manage staff with an eye to developing a culture within the team of accountability for results, donor-centricity, teamwork, customer service and continuous learning

Internal Program Leadership

  • Communicate with the broader Philanthropy team and other stakeholders about the fundraising campaigns and activities within this portfolio

What we are looking for:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant discipline from a recognized academic institution, preferably in Marketing, Communications, Fund Development.
  • 8+ years of progressive, relevant experience as an exceptional marketer with proven skill in developing programs and campaigns that have driven results.
  • A successful track record with revenue generation, working with cross functional teams, and external partners to hit revenue targets, with a strong understanding of fundraising and the entire donor lifecycle.
  • Superior analytical skills and the ability to interpret complex information and to communicate it to a variety of audiences.
  • Demonstrated track record of providing strategic direction in the development and implementation of targeted marketing campaigns designed to achieve growth objectives, maintaining effective cost ratios.
  • Ability to effectively develop strong cross functional partnerships, evidenced by a track record of teamwork, collegiality and building relationships.
  • Demonstrated project management, budgeting and financial management skills.
  • Superior verbal and written communications skills, ability to convey big ideas with passion.
  • Excellent computer skills (Microsoft Office) and experience working with fundraising/relationship databases (CRC uses Blackbaud CRM).
  • Full vaccination against COVID-19 is mandatory for this position and operation (the CRC will however adhere to its duty to accommodate those who are unable to be fully vaccinated for a reason related to a human right protected ground).
