As ATB’s next Director, Financial Markets Business Management, you will provide a wide scope of responsibilities to the Financial Markets team. You will be heavily involved in the facilitation and development of policies, processes and the Best Practices; completing in depth analysis of the Financial Markets Group (FMG) trade data; and the implementation of the business plan. You will need to advocate outside of Financial Markets for resources, create business plans for initiatives that are in their infancy, as well as create solutions for immediate problems. You know where to go for all questions, and know who has the answer. You are FMG’s gateway into the enterprise, leveraging your understanding of ATB for appropriate responses on the business plan.

You will leverage reports that you create and maintain to support the business and sales plans for the FMG Sales team. You will create trade analysis to forecast enterprise prerequisites for revenue across all three asset classes, and work with the FMG Analyst to dive deeper into Macro trends like revenue and notional volumes against economic factors.

The Director, Financial Markets Business Management oversees the Financial Markets yearly plan and ensures progress is being made towards the plans completion.

This role also oversees the ATB FX Support team, and will provide guidance, support, recognition, goals and performance reviews for the teammates.

Requirements

Accountabilities:

  • Manage design and execution of analyses through integration of financial data, agreed KPIs, customer analysis and competitive intelligence as required
  • Design, build and maintain several Tableau reports which are used to inform portfolio management in the Sales team
  • Oversee creation and execution of short and long-term strategic and tactical plans for Financial Markets, including how we fit into ATB Business strategic plans
  • Manage day to day projects, improvement and regulatory items, marketing tasks and vision and portfolio planning
  • Identify trends in trade data that could be leveraged for the next best conversation
  • Manage a team of ATB FX Support colleagues, providing support, growth opportunities, and a path of escalation when needed
  • Work with the Strategic Director and the head of Financial Markets to ensure the FMG business plan fits in with the Enterprise Business Plan, is prioritized, and presented well
  • Provide industry and team expertise on various enterprise projects; acts as SME on some, and join the steering committee on others

Knowledge Skills & Abilities:

  • University degree, with a focus on finance, economics, or mathematics.
  • 5-7 years of experience in a business management role with proven: business analysis; process and development skills; and data, financial analysis and reporting experience
  • Experience with Capital Markets Interest Rates, Commodities and/or FX areas; driven ability to learn new things rapidly
  • Strong interpersonal, communication and leadership skills; capable of making sound decisions with sparse information
  • Ability to network & cultivate productive working relationships at various levels within ATB
  • Highly developed analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills
  • Capable of synthesizing large volumes of information into trends, devising the best plan of action for all variables
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, ability to interact effectively with Business Unit, Management, Lines of Business, as well as external vendors
  • Strong research, time and project management skills (including planning, prioritization and execution)
  • Ability to work as a team in a matrix organization
  • Self-directed, self-motivated & committed to continuous learning
  • Excellent working knowledge of Tableau, Microsoft Office tools and Google Suite including extensive experience with Excel and Sheets
