We offer an opportunity to join a global pharmaceutical company focused on brain diseases and to lead our international medical education activities within Neurology and Psychiatry.

Lundbeck Medical Strategy & Communication (MSC) consists of three product and pipeline teams, one chief specialist and this a new position as Head of Medical Education. MSC is a part of Medical Affairs and R&D, and is responsible for all international medical activities for our products and related disease areas, including (1) leading the development of the scientific communication strategy, and driving evidence generation strategies and publication plans; (2) conducting advisory meetings with medical experts, medical education at congresses and online, and disease and product internal training; (3) reviewing promotional materials and regulatory documents; and (4) supporting affiliates and other functions in Lundbeck in our joint effort to address patient needs.

The position is based at our headquarters in Copenhagen, reporting to Vice President, Head of Medical Strategy & Communication.

Your job and key responsibilities

In leading our global medical education, you will connect and collaborate with many external experts and internal specialists. You will represent Lundbeck’s global medical education in international congresses and Lundbeck seminars and can expect to travel about 30 days per year to cover these and other meetings. Your role has high visibility externally and within Lundbeck.

An important project for you in 2022 is to shape a new Lundbeck Institute Campus medical education platform and associated seminars to leverage post-COVID behaviour, further digitalization and opportunities with hybrid events. For this you will use your project management skills to drive it forward and collaborative mindset to get to the best solution with internal specialists and external advisors.

When developing, or guiding others in their development of, medical education programs, you systematically implement and document quality elements, such as educational needs assessment, optimal learning design and outcomes assessment.

In your daily work, you will collaborate closely with colleagues from MSC, other functions and affiliates, to co-create innovative solutions for our medical education and deliver on your responsibilities.

Your key responsibilities are to:

  • plan and conduct Lundbeck Institute virtual and in-person seminars with support from Operations Managers
  • represent Lundbeck medical education in international congresses, towards scientific societies and internally in headquarter and with affiliates
  • maintain and further develop the

online platform * input to and coordinate projects with colleagues leading other Lundbeck global online platforms, including
and * inspire affiliate colleagues in their development of local medical education plans and activities

  • evaluate applications for medical education grants
  • ensure compliance to industry codes and regulations in all activities and communications related to international medical education

You are expected to take an active part in continuous development and improvement of how we work in MSC and Medical Affairs and will be part of the MSC leadership team and the extended Medical Affairs leadership team.

Qualifications

Our preferred candidate has the following qualifications:

  • an advanced academic degree in natural sciences (MD or PhD)
  • experience from pharmaceutical medical affairs/drug development
  • experience in medical education and communication
  • experience from Psychiatry or Neurology research or clinical practice

Furthermore, the preferred candidate:

  • enjoys strategic thinking and tactical planning
  • has a collaborative mindset in driving projects forward
  • is motivated by externally oriented activities and interactions, as well as expanding own expertise in medicine and science to contribute in projects
  • is fluent in English, and can communicate effectively internally and externally
