As ATB’s next Director Infrastructure, Power and Structured Finance you will be responsible for managing and growing a project finance portfolio primarily in the corporate finance space. The successful candidate will be responsible to lead or partner in transactions primarily in the P3, Infrastructure and Power/renewable space. The Director will successfully manage high value relationships with mid to senior market clients.
The primary focus of the Director is to be a leader and senior salesperson spending the majority of the time in direct or indirect contact with clients, prospects or contacts, enhancing current relationships and developing new opportunities. The Director will need to identify and coordinate efficient delivery of ATB Financial products and services to meet both credit and non-credit needs of the client.
Requirements
Director Accountabilities:
- Collaboratively work with clients, prospects and centers of influences by conducting regular visits, meetings and professional pitches.
- Assist the Project Finance team in expanding the business offerings into the advisory services space. The successful candidate must be able to position themselves well in the marketplace and successfully develop business.
- Maintain a constant pipeline of business consisting of new prospects, deals in various stages of negotiations, and business that will close within a short timeframe.
- Proactively analyze client files of existing relationships for opportunities to maximize the relationship by understanding the client’s needs and providing solutions across ATB lines of business that meet those needs.
- Analyze and negotiate client and new prospect deals to ensure profitability of the relationship with acceptable credit risk.
- Meet or exceed goals and targets related to growth or maintenance of their assigned portfolio, including profitability goals and targets and or other agreed objectives.
- Ensure credit decisions / recommendations are in accordance with sound credit granting principles and are in accordance with policy and procedures.
- Establish and enhance ATB’s presence and profile in the market area by participating in business and community activities.
- Build and maintain effective relationships with counterparts at other Financial Institutions to facilitate syndicated or other shared lending solutions.
- Lead, coach and mentor Associate Directors assigned to the project finance portfolio, ensuring client service expectations and credit quality are maintained.
- Connect and collaborate with all teams within the ATB Business setting while acting as a role model for ATB Leadership Attributes and Values.
REQUIREMENTS
- Strong Leadership skills, appreciation for how the organization works together and willingness to foster our working relationship with all parts and people of ATB Financial
- Over 5 years Commercial/Corporate lending experience
- Over 3 years of experience in corporate finance, structured finance, and large corporate credit
- Strong knowledge of commercial lending policies and products
- Proven ability to provide creative solutions
- Demonstration of passion and hunger for achieving results with a proven ability to meet growth targets
- Exceptional business development and relationship building skills
- Strong awareness of capital market activities, products and services and ability to identify opportunities for referral to ATB relationships including ATB Capital Markets.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills
- Ability to work flexible hours including weekends and evenings
- Undergraduate degree in relevant discipline (i.e. economics, accounting, engineering, finance, etc.)
- Graduate degree would be an asset
- Experience in the Capital Market space
- Strong personal computer skills, preference to experience with Google suite of products and strong knowledge in Microsoft applications
