Reporting to the Vice President of Product Development, the Administrative Solutions IT Architecture Manager is responsible for solution and data architecture planning for the Administrative Solutions division of Lifeworks and participates in the development of short and long term strategy aligned with organizational goals and enterprise architecture.

They will work with a matrix team of solution architects from the various business units who will explore and execute technology opportunities and options aligned with long-term organizational goals. They will be called upon to perform analysis to determine the best path forward to solve business problems/opportunities that may include process improvement, systems improvement, change management and/or software.
They must demonstrate the ability to stay ahead of business and technology trends to ensure that the IT architecture evolves at a pace capable of supporting the changes in our business environments.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Interact with business lines to translate business needs into solutions and services for the organization.
  • Develop architecture roadmaps integrating solutions across the various platforms used in the organization.
  • Take a leadership role and manage solution and data architecture initiatives, proof of concepts, product review and selection.
  • Actively participate in the creation and maintenance of the long term IT architecture strategy aligned with Lifeworks corporate goals.
  • Facilitate the development and implementation of data quality standards, data protection standards and adoption requirements across the enterprise.
  • Continuously evaluate tools, models, sources and processes to ensure we maintain a data analytics strategy aligned with best practices.
  • Support enterprise-wide IT architecture model and advocate its use in IT solution architecture and design activities, stakeholder communications, change impact analysis, IT application portfolio management and transformational planning.
  • Develop senior management relationships and knowledge leading to the understanding and articulation of the effects of technology and business direction on initiatives and solutions delivered by the IT department.
  • Support the Agile methodology within the teams by ensuring that values are communicated quickly and aligned with strategy.
  • Increase team members’ knowledge and experience of all aspects of enterprise architecture.
  • Evolve application architecture and related best practices.
  • Develop productive and engaged teams, fostering personal and technical skills development and collaboration
  • Collaborate with other managers to ensure that all initiatives are appropriately resourced, balancing the needs of the business with the experience and career aspirations of each resource
  • Collaborate with enterprise and solution architecture to ensure that application architecture decisions are aligned with business directions and vision
  • Plan and solve at a high level the functional gaps identified in the RFP, as well as participate in the process to evaluate the gaps
  • Update the product roadmap, in line with the identified gaps – customer support.
  • Support customer teams during the implementation phases, especially for on-premise customers (including customers on their cloud).

  • Optimize costs (hardware, licenses, development, …) for both on-premise and SaaS customers

Desired Skills:

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related field.
  • Basic TOGAF certification or equivalent is required.
  • Minimum of 12 years of IT experience and 3 years of leadership experience in working with multiple cross-functional teams and influencing senior management and key stakeholders.
  • Experience in areas such as architecture (solution, application, infrastructure, enterprise or data), enterprise systems support and administration, business analyst and technology adoption.
  • Experience in cloud information models (iaaS, PaaS, SaaS) and market leaders such as Microsoft Azure.
  • Strong technology research skills with proven ability to architect and present technology alternatives based on business concepts at the scope level
  • Demonstrated and proven experience in architecture, design and implementation of high volume, high accessibility systems, and complex enterprise-wide projects that require deep knowledge in various architecture areas.
  • Experience with cloud (Azure), analytics, workflow, mobile, service-oriented, microservice/API, middleware, security, and other advanced distributed ledger technologies.
  • Analytical thinking and problem solving skills, with the ability to negotiate technology options and find trade-offs regarding goals and costs.
  • Knowledge of Agile approaches to software development and ability to apply general Agile principles to deliver a solution incrementally.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and prioritize work according to very large project schedules in a fast-paced environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to deal with both abstract and concrete concepts and reconcile them to suit the audience and context, preferably.
  • Proven ability to take long-term strategic perspectives and the business viewpoint and support tangible, business-focused solutions produced by Information Technology.
  • Quick understanding of organizational dynamics and management priorities and ability to work effectively within a fast-paced, results-oriented company.
