Our aggressively growing client in the healthcare service and retail space is looking for an experienced Director of Finance for their Canadian Headquarters South West of the GTA

About the role
Reporting to the Global CFO and Country CEO, the Director of Finance will be responsible for the execution of the organization’s financial management strategy, while providing leadership, direction and guidance to the Accounting Team.

• Mentor and develop staff. Assign accountabilities; set objectives; establish priorities; and monitor and evaluate results
• Foster a culture of continuous improvement, accountability, and high-quality reporting that adds value to decision making process
• Develop and maintain timely and accurate financial statements and reports that are appropriate for the users and in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP-IFRS)
• Document and maintain complete and accurate supporting information for all financial transactions
• Plan, coordinate, and execute the annual budget process
• Manage the preparation of all financial and KPI reporting
• Monitor and analyze monthly operating results against budget
• Review the financial viability of potential acquisitions
• Ensure that regular finance process audits are completed and provide recommendations for improvement

About the candidate:

• CPA designation is required
• Minimum 10 years’ experience in progressive roles with a minimum of 5 years managing a team
• Experience within a high-growth organization
• Management experience ideally within an organization that has both external audit and in-house financial management operations
• ERP implementation experience is a definite asset
• Knowledge GAAP and IFRS
• Knowledge of federal and provincial legislation as it pertains to financial reporting
• Exceptional communication and presentation skills.
