Director of Finance

Full-Time Exempt Position

Gold River, a quaint coastal village located in central Vancouver Island, blessed with not only a beautiful village but also a sense of community and a quality of life second to none is seeking a Director of Finance to join our team. Gold River is an outdoor mecca for adventure at all times of the year with our incredible recreation services. The Village Aquatic Center includes a 25-meter swimming pool, sauna & hot tub, and a lazy river with a bubble pool for toddlers. In addition, the Village hosts racquet courts along with a weight room, fitness center and rooms for aerobics and yoga classes complemented with an Arena Complex which contains a Community hall and both a curling and ice rink.

Reporting to the Chief Administrative Officer, the Director of Finance is a member of the senior management team and is responsible for the statutory duties of financial officer including, but not limited to, preparation of the financial plan, annual financial statements, annual municipal report, attending Council meetings as required and other duties, as assigned. You will be leading a small department and demonstrating leadership in asset management, budgeting, financial recording and reporting, and financial analysis.

Qualified candidates will possess a professional accounting designation CPA, (CA, CGA or CMA) or equivalent combination of training and experience, supplemented by a minimum of five years senior level accounting experience leading the financial and accounting functions within a municipal setting.

This is an excluded position and a competitive salary and benefits package is included.
