Our aggressively growing client in the retail sector is looking for an experienced Director of Finance for their Canadian Headquarters. This is ideal for the candidate living Milton -Kitchener or surrounding communities.
About the role
Reporting into a European HQ, the Director of Finance will be responsible for the execution of the organization’s financial management strategy, while providing leadership, direction and guidance to a local accounting team for Canadian operations.
- Mentor, develop, manage and grow the current accounting team.
- Oversee IT and an ERP implementation
- Document and maintain supporting information for all financial transactions
- Develop financial statements and various reports
- Plan, coordinate, and execute the annual budget process
- Manage the preparation of all financial and KPI reporting
- Monitor and analyze monthly operating results against budget
- Review the financial viability of potential acquisitions
- Ensure that regular finance process audits are completed and provide recommendations for improvement
About the candidate:
- CPA designation is required
- Minimum 10 years’ experience in progressive leadership roles with a minimum of 5 years managing a team
- Experience within a high-growth organization and preferably the retail sector
- Management experience ideally within an organization that has both external audit and in-house financial management operations
- ERP implementation experience is a definite asset
- Knowledge GAAP and IFRS
- Knowledge of federal and provincial legislation as it pertains to financial reporting
- Exceptional communication and presentation skills.
