About the Opportunity

- Coach and develop staff to increase efficiency and deliver outstanding customer service to internal and external customers
- Drive the transformation and evolution of the Billing and AR people, processes and systems
- Assist with establishing targets for key metrics and effectively supporting the team to meet or exceed monthly DSO, Accounts Receivable and Cash targets
- Provide accurate and timely reporting to Finance Committee, Management Committee and lawyers
- Monitor WIP and AR with stakeholders to reduce the cycle from docketing to collections
- Oversee setting and monitoring annual standard billing rates and coordinate national and local standard rates across offices
- Oversee implementation and compliance with non-standard, individual client billing arrangements and guidelines, including alternative fee arrangements, rate discounts, e-billing requirements, special rate sets and other requirements, ensuring that any such arrangements have been approved under firm policies
- Prepare and analyze complex client billing arrangements
- Support the Toronto Managing Partners in analysis and communications
- Revenue forecasting and budgeting for top-down and bottom-up approaches
- Scenario planning for revenue-maximizing strategies and resource management
- Financial planning including setting and measuring against short term and long term operational goals and metrics
- Analyze data to deliver insights that drive the business and improve the overall performance of the firm
- Develop strong analytical capabilities within the team
- Lead or support financial system upgrades and implementation
- Identify, evaluate and implement process improvements initiatives
- Provide training to various departments regarding relevant processes, policies and procedures
About You
- CPA / MBA Designation
- Hybrid experience of Controllership/FP+A background
- Strong Data Analysis skills (Tech Savvy with Data Tools and Data Manipulation) / KPIs background
- 10+ years experience in the industry
- 5+ years of People Management, with proven ability to manage, coach, improve direct reporting teams
- Strong Communication / Presentation Skills – This role will be heavily involved in presentations to Partners and Sr Management on a monthly basis
- Projects Experience and/or Process Improvement background is a strong asset
Salary Range
$140,000 – $160,000/year
