Our client, a leading provider of Canadian food products, is looking for a Director of Operations to lead their team in Mississauga. If you are interested in joining a large, locally rooted company, this may be the right fit for you!

Responsibilities:
– Oversee production process at a food manufacturing facility

– Manage critical production interruptions

– Communicate business and customer needs to department managers

– Work with department managers to achieve production targets with high level of quality

– Co-ordinate plant changes as needed, including equipment changes, production floor redesign

– Continuously strive for improvement in efficiency, safety and HACCP

– Mentor and support team to achieve safety, quality, employee relations, cost savings and process improvement initiatives

– Manage plant personnel, including delegation of duties, establishment of targets and goals, performance evaluation, hiring and onboarding, disciplinary measures, skill development and coaching

– Manage budget for plant, conducting regular cost analysis of planned projects and monitoring financial performance
– Implement and develop SOP’s

– Follow and ensure compliance with all company policies and procedures

– Adhere to company GMP

– Participate in audits

– Take responsibility for food safety and legal responsibilities as defined by company and governing body policies

Requirements:
– 10+ years experience in production management

– Experience in food manufacturing preferred, but other manufacturing backgrounds will be considered

– Working knowledge of food plant regulatory standards is ideal

– Knowledge of regional health and safety regulations

– Ability to work in a fast paced, high pressure environment with attention to detail

– Knowledge of process improvement tools

– Educational background in a related field
