Job title: Director, Product Management, Google Kubernetes Engine

Job description: As the Director of Product Management for Google Kubernetes Engine (GKE), you will lead a team of Product Managers who will work closely with engineering, other platform teams, sales, partners and customers to maintain the success of GKE. You will be responsible for specific areas of the end-to-end strategic alignment of GKE functionality in order to expand GKE’s adoption and expansion across a broad customer base. The role will span inbound product management, as well as conceive and execute the GKE go-to-market strategy, focusing on deepening partnerships with all Google Cloud technology. You will serve as a spokesperson for GKE within Google Cloud as well as with customers, partners, press, and analysts.

Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the end-to-end strategic capabilities of GKE to drive sales and adoption across multiple verticals.
  • Recruit, manage, and develop diverse collaborative teams.
  • Work with customers, establishing relationships with customer executives, engaging with customer advocates to drive roadmap decisions, supporting opportunities, and managing post-sales issues.
  • Partner with engineering, sales, and marketing to define the vision and roadmap, building consensus around that vision and simplifying complexity to align cross-functional teams. Prioritize and drive product/solution roadmap, pricing, go-to-market (GTM) business case, etc., and scale best practices through online cloud services and solution/GTM.
  • Identify and qualify business opportunities, understand key customer technical objections, and develop a strategy to resolve technical blockers. Advocate for the user, anticipating their needs and collaborating with engineering and UX to build capabilities that increase user satisfaction.

Qualifications:

Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent practical experience.
  • 10 years of experience building and managing cloud/SaaS products, platforms, or security services.
  • 10 years of experience managing technical projects in software engineering.
  • Experience in cross-functional stakeholder management and leadership through influence.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Experience developing scalable architectures using Application Programming Interface (API) management, microservice frameworks, container orchestration and Platform-as-a-Service (PaaS), or other applicable platforms.
  • Experience with cloud-native software development methodologies and tools to support application development/deployment stages.
  • Experience logging and monitoring hybrid-cloud and managed services workloads.
  • Understanding of the application and service delivery, hybrid/multi-cloud market context, and cloud service and infrastructure platform operations.
  • Knowledge of cloud and data center topologies, enterprise and mobile security, cloud identity, automation/design techniques, and troubleshooting techniques.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, negotiation, organizational, communication, and presentation skills.
