What you’ll be doing
Reporting to the Senior Director, Products, Simplii Financial, this role is responsible for leading the evolution of the Simplii Deposit and Payment products as catalysts to growth customer share of wallet and market share. The individual develops compelling, industry leading products under the Simplii brand, manages and owns the product strategy and performance and supports the day to day management of Simplii products. The role is critical in influencing the ongoing development and growth of the Simplii Financial franchise and it’s positive contribution to the CIBC enterprise.

How you’ll succeed
Provide leadership and effective management of business unit staff to influence employee commitment to the organization, to the team, and to their job by:
Setting appropriate context when assigning work to ensure that individuals’ roles support the achievement of the business unit’s priorities and CIBC’s overall goals;
Building team and individual capabilities by providing development opportunities such as job shadowing, special projects, and training;
Managing performance by providing fair and accurate formal and informal feedback, identifying and removing obstacles to performance and by explaining how performance expectations align with business priorities;
Creating a positive work environment and being an effective role model by championing CIBC’s mission, vision and values;
Ensuring compliance with policies, standards, guidelines and controls by applying the policies and controls fairly and consistently so employees understand what to expect, and;
Hiring the right people in the right jobs to align individual capabilities with job requirements and business unit goals.
Support in the development of Simplii’s business strategies and plans to enable Simplii to deliver on its mandate, goals and objectives
Regularly monitor business performance and market trends to provide value-add information to clients
Meet monthly, quarterly and annual revenue targets
Ensure all regulatory, business and financial reporting completed on time and with accuracy
Identify new areas of growth that align with Simplii’s business priorities and develop strategic roadmaps to execute on those opportunities
Establish effective strategies for deepening relationships with existing clients while increasing share of wallet and maximizing business opportunities
Acquire robust competitive intelligence through ongoing research and through establishing client centric feedback loops in order to maintain strong awareness of trends, competitive solutions, client needs and regulatory considerations
Engage and manage stakeholders to successfully execute on key project deliverables to bring new clients, capabilities and initiatives to market
Work collaboratively with stakeholders to develop detailed business cases outlining project objectives, milestones, resource requirements and associated cost-benefit analysis
Who you are
Undergraduate University degree in Engineering and/or STEM
2-3 years’ work experience in an Engineering role
Proven track record of driving profitable revenue growth with strong analytical and problem-solving skills to understand, explain, and resolve complex business issues
Excellent analytical and intellectual capabilities; ability to draft comprehensive proposals using advanced frameworks in PowerPoint, Excel and Word
Ability to think strategically and conceptualize ideas in an entrepreneurial manner
Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced, results oriented work environment with excellent time management skills
Client service driven individual that consistently delivers results and drives towards goals with energy and enthusiasm
Exceptional communication skills sufficient to provide detailed explanation of factual and conceptual information and ideas as they relate to Simplii’s product offering / capabilities
Well-developed writing skills sufficient to creatively and precisely articulate ideas that involve interpretation, analysis and assessment
Ability to prioritize tasks and create a focus around what is strategically important, is approachable, viewed as a partner and eager to assist in all aspects of the business
Ability to acquire knowledge quickly to demonstrate competence and add value to the transaction and client relationships
Promotes a culture of teamwork with a personal drive to exceed expectations
Knowledge of technology and processes currently used within retail banks and large financial institutions as they relate to foreign exchange and payments
Awareness of FinTech industry and disruptive technologies revolutionizing traditional banking products and services
Proven project management experience and execution in getting new products and campaigns to market
Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail is required
