Job Description

Under the supervision of the Supervisor, Planning, Distribution, the Distribution Planner will be responsible for managing the demand and distribution of Techo-Bloc’s products throughout their network. As such, you will work with internal stakeholders to ensure the daily distribution/replenishment of our finished goods from our manufacturing sites to our 18 locations across Canada and the United States.

Responsibilities

  • Managing the demand and distribution of our products using our vastly automated Microsoft Dynamics AX ERP system;
  • Based off sales forecasts, in collaboration with the Demand & Distribution Manager, participate in the process of establishing our Min-Max and target inventory levels for the distribution of our finished goods;
  • Responsible for organizing the daily distribution/replenishment of our finished goods from our manufacturing sites to our 12 depots based off orders and Min-Max;
  • Collaborate with the production planners to organize timely replenishment of our finished goods and that is aligned with our production schedule;
  • Responsible for identifying actual or potential overstock situations in our depots and altering our replenishment strategy accordingly;
  • Collaborate with the purchasing department to organize the replenishment of resale items across our depots;
  • Collaborate with the marketing department to organize the replenishment of marketing merchandise across our depots;
  • Collaborate with the customer service order department to organize the distribution and fulfillment of special orders to our depots;
  • Collaborate with the transport department to establish and maintain the most cost-effective distribution routes to replenish our depots;
  • Ad hoc analysis.

A day in a life

A typical day always starts with a good coffee. Then, opening Outlook and Teams to validate if there are any emergencies that need to be handled that occurred in the evening or early morning. When the fires are out, if there are any, the day can start! You now focus on your daily tasks, such as managing cancellations of outdated inventory movements, creating shipments based on available products and even finding time to generate new inventory movements. Mixed in with that, you take time for lunch, recharge and keep an eye out for out of system requests from Marketing, Customer Service and Logistics. Your day ends with a brainstorming activity with your team about an exciting project of continuous improvement you want to implement!

Qualifications

  • College or university degree in a related field;
  • Experience in a related field would be considered an asset;
  • Bilingualism (French/English) – Due to frequent communication with employees in Quebec, Ontario and the United States;
  • Strong computer system skills. Advanced Excel skills;
  • Ability to multi-task and prioritize tasks with strict deadlines;
  • Strong team player, organizational skills and detail oriented;
  • Fundamental knowledge of Supply Chain (planning and scheduling, production process and capabilities, inventory planning etc.) will be considered a strong asset;
  • Experience in using MRP will be considered a strong asset.
