What you’ll do

It’s safe to say, there’s no shortage of variety in what we do. Here are some key responsibilities of the role:

  • Responsible for utilizing standard project management tools and methodologies to manage Continuous Improvement projects using Lean Six Sigma (LSS) and other process improvement methodologies across TJX Canada’s Distribution Services network to support the organization’s strategic priorities.
  • Collaborates and consults with Leadership to define business needs, identify resource opportunities and develop plans to execute and achieve project/program requirements.
  • Sets milestones, identifies required resources, establishes interdependencies and cross functional timelines, to ensure project objectives are delivered on-time, within budget with consideration overall DS network impacts, facility constraints and capabilities within DC labor environment
  • Collaborates closely with Distribution Services Operations training team to assess and determine operational training requirements within DS network.
  • Partners closely with Distribution Services Finance lead to create alignment on budget requirements to ensure all projects are managed within budget.
  • Responsible for timely and effective project communications including organizing and leading regular cross functional progress meetings with Project Leaders and other relevant stakeholders from across all functions, as well as preparing and presenting regular progress updates to Distribution Services Leadership and other groups as determined in the governance model.
  • Manages project change control process with business partners ensuring any requested changes to scope are reviewed to assess impact on schedule, cost and resources.
  • Establishes partnerships with global partners and business partners to bring new solutions or innovation to the Distribution Centers that are cost effective.

What you’ll need

To begin your career with us, you’ll have:

  • Minimum 3 years’ experience in Business Process Improvement, Quality, Operations or related discipline
  • 5+ years’ experience in project management, with a focus on larger cross-functional projects
  • Post-secondary education in Operations Management, Business Administration preferred
  • Demonstrated proficiency of Lean and DMAIC tools; Yellow, Green or Black Belt Certification considered an asset
  • Formal Project Management accreditation – PMP, PgMP, PRINCE2 or equivalent
  • Excellent project management skills including structured project methodology (i.e., determining needs, researching existing programs, etc.); preparing and maintaining detailed development plans for projects; determining project specifications; understanding and applying principles of project control to launch and manage new initiatives and innovations.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with ability to influence business partners, to help prioritize activities and resources to meet the organization needs, build rapport and credibility to be a trusted advisor.
  • Demonstrated leadership skills with the ability to act as a collaborative partner with senior leadership and positively influence outcomes in the best interest of the Company.
  • Strong business writing skills with ability to write clearly and concisely, ability to respond effectively to sensitive inquiries, ability to write standard operating procedures and other business documents.
