Job description: eHealth Information Analyst
Do you have a keen interest in technology and privacy in a healthcare setting? In this role, you will work with a variety of stakeholders on information privacy and risk mitigation strategies within a complex healthcare environment.
The work will involve extensive use of detailed information, including highly sensitive and confidential information, and the responsibility to make recommendations regarding steps required to handle such information in accordance with legislation and policy.
What you’ll do:
- Administer privacy incident tracking, analyses data and prepares reports, updates, and briefings on the progress of the privacy program for presentation to key stakeholders
- Provide strategic planning support and change management services by leading and performing feasibility studies, workload efficiency analyses, using formal data gathering techniques
- Analyze, design and implement appropriate information systems – including identifying system deficiencies, user department operational inefficiencies
- Provide support for application maintenance, modification and enhancement through programming, database development, report writing and problem solving
- Escalate privacy issues according to established procedures then investigate and take appropriate action with respect to privacy complaints regarding access to personal/confidential information
What you bring:
- A level of education, training and experience equivalent to Bachelor Degree in Health Administration, Law or another related discipline (i.e. Business or Computer Science, Human Resources) and 5-7 years recent related experience. Completion of an Information Access and/or Protection of Privacy Certificate Program is an asset ( i.e.CIPP/C, CIPT, CIPM, or CAPPA.) however individuals with extensive experience in investigations or audit may also be considered
- Demonstrated understanding of the Systems Development Life Cycle and project management methodology
- Demonstrated experience organizing and writing application related documentation and proposals
- Excellent interpersonal, oral and written communication skills with the ability to communicate complex ideas in simple terminology
