Mission

We are looking for an electrical or civil technician to work in our department in Rivière du Loup. The ideal candidate will have an interest in design as well as field work. Their responsibilities will include preparing drawings, carrying out design, and obtaining clients’ approval, in order to successfully deliver projects.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Carry out site visits to determine what work needs to be done
  • Carry out field surveys
  • Design overhead and/or underground distribution networks
  • Prepare drawings using AutoCAD software
  • Work with geographical information systems (GIS)
  • Carry out research on property rights and prepare easement requests
  • Estimate material quantity, workforce requirements, and costs
  • Obtain permits from all involved stakeholders (municipalities, ministries, etc.)
  • Ensure permanent or occasional on-site work supervision
  • Ensure stringent monitoring of assigned projects
  • Closely work with clients

Profile

  • Knowledge of geographical information systems (GIS) – an asset
  • Knowledge of public utilities’ distribution and/or telecommunication networks
  • Diploma of college studies (DCS) in civil or electrical engineering or telecommunications
  • Knowledge of AutoCAD software and Microsoft Office suite
  • Ability to work on various projects simultaneously
  • Client care skills
  • Availability and willingness to travel for the purpose of carrying out field surveys
  • Excellent French communication skills
  • Good English communication skills (an asset)
  • Valid driver’s licence and access to a vehicle
