The Opportunity The Financial Analyst is a full-time position responsible for performing a variety of duties including yield and labour reporting, preparing and posting journal entries, account reconciliations, and variance analysis. This position is responsible for executing standard control processes and ensuring accuracy of plant financial reporting related to their area.

A snapshot of some of the exciting things you will lead and do:

• Daily production yield reporting and variance explanation
• Daily production labour efficiency reporting and variance explanation
• Investigate variances, determine root causes, and recommend actions to minimize.
• Provide overhead management support to assigned Budget Manager and Finance Manager.
• Data analysis to understand cost driving activities and to provide analytics to operations and finance
• Assist in the annual overhead budgeting process.
• Play a key role in the period end close process.
• Coordinate inventory counts assigned, investigate & provide explanations for variances that occur.
• Reconcile balance sheet accounts relating to manufacturing and ensure controls are in place, and items are accounted for.
• Collaborate with Sr. Finance Analyst and Finance Manager on special projects as assigned.
• Provide coverage for finance team members as required.
• Design, test, implement and maintain procedures.
• Ensure compliance with Maple Leaf reporting and financial analysis processes.
• Be active and participate in Six Sigma projects.

What you will bring:

• Post Secondary Education in Accounting related program required
• Manufacturing experience is an asset
• Knowledge of SAP is an asset
• Experience in Microsoft Office is essential (Excel, Word, Outlook, Teams)
• Self-motivated with a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail
• Ability to meet deadlines and work independently with minimal supervision.
• Ability to demonstrate strong problem solving, time management and organizational skills
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to present financial information to non- financial functions.
