Finance Analyst – Supply Chain

Whirlpool Canada is the number one supplier of portable and large home appliances, selling products under major brands that include KitchenAid, Whirlpool, Maytag, Jenn-Air, Inglis and Amana.

As an integral member of the Canada Finance Team, the Finance Analyst will report to the Finance Manager. This role partners closely with the business and provides support to the Finance Manager and Supply Chain organization.

Job Responsibilities

  • Controls/manages the Supply Chain / Freight and Warehousing costs
  • Ensure the data (including operational and functional) is in place to minimize cost and maximize effectiveness
  • Process journal entries related to Freight & Warehouse, and accruals
  • Speak to the business impact (i.e. tell the story) that the data implies. Connect the numbers with the operations and business drivers.
  • Project Support: Finance is consistently involved in projects to better support our business partners. Every member of the finance team will lead certain aspects of various projects that include but are not limited to volume, mix and pricing analysis, modeling and report creation, and profit plan process improvement.
  • Leverage the knowledge of others through building excellent cross-functional, dotted-line and intra-regional relationships
  • Support Finance or cross-functional projects geared towards process improvement, profitability, cost reduction, etc.

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • 4+ years of experience in accounting or financial reporting
  • Accounting designation earned or in process (CPA Ontario (CMA / CGA / CA))

Preferred Requirements

  • Experience in supporting a Supply Chain organization
  • Ability to build strong relationships and credibility
  • Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and written to interact successfully with internal and external contacts
  • Strong analytical skills and the ability to assimilate a large amount of information from many sources
  • Effective listening and documentation skills
  • Advanced knowledge of PC applications (Excel, Access) and financial systems
  • Experience in SAP
  • Superior organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast paced environment, while adhering to strict deadlines
  • Experience working in a matrixed organization supporting cross-functional business partners.
  • Strong and effective team player (position requires a strong, positive relationship with all functions, senior leadership, other finance members, and US peers)
  • Demonstrated ability to take initiative, work independently and establish priorities
  • Ability to work in a dynamic environment with changing priorities
  • Ability to operate under pressure and tight deadlines
