Position Purpose

Provides the faculty or service with leadership in the sound management of its financial resources. Establishes, improves and updates the faculty or service’s financial management framework, including monitoring and controlling financial activities. Provides guidance, training, expert advice, support and recommendations to management and other members of the faculty or service in relation to financial management.

Essential Qualifications

University degree in accounting, finance or business administration, or an equivalent combination of education and work experience.
Minimum seven years of demonstrated experience in a similar role.

Other competencies

Professional accounting accreditation an asset
Knowledge of business administration processes and practices, including financial planning and budgeting.
Knowledge of financial planning principles, policies, procedures and practices.
Knowledge of legal and fiscal provisions, as well as compensation-related regulations and procedures
Thorough knowledge of the administrative structure and governance of a large organization (preferably in a university setting) an asset
Experience supervising teams
Experience working in an environment with multiple labour unions an asset.
Autonomy and discretion.
Critical and analytical thinking.
Knowledge and experience using computer systems and software such as Windows, financial systems, spreadsheets, databases, the internet and email.
Bilingualism – English and French (spoken and written)

Temporary assignment or contract of 24 months, with possibility of renewal. Eligibility to benefits will be determined upon hiring. This position is excluded from all union accreditation units.
