Job description: You’ll lead the effective use of core systems across Finance, to do so, you’ll be a finance professional with extensive systems management experience. You’ll identify trends, lead improvements and work with stakeholders to understand their systems needs.
The role
- Triage and trouble-shoot Finance systems requests; signpost resources to encourage self-service; help Finance teams navigate change processes (DTS and GBS)
- Monitor and track Finance requests and incidents, identifying trends and root causes
- Develop plans for long term remediation of repeat issues, and work closely with Finance and other functional teams to deliver in an appropriate timeframe
- Partner with Finance teams to understand their system needs – whether pain points causing inefficiencies, or future needs due to changing business requirements
- Develop resources and deliver teach-ins to address knowledge gaps across Finance, including the evolution of a super user network, in conjunction with the wider Finance Systems team
- Collaborate cross-functionally to understand the pipeline of change, and assess the impacts on core Finance systems
The person
- Finance experience, with accounting qualification preferred (ACCA, CIMA, ICAEW, ICAS)
- Significant knowledge and hands on experience of SAP Finance modules
- Experience working in a large scale organisation, with diverse and complex processes
- Experience of a variety of Finance roles, preferably Super User capacity or similar
- Experience of driving best practice through continuous process improvement
- Collaborative approach to working within team, across organisational boundaries and with external suppliers
- Able to cope with ambiguity, and adaptable to changing priorities
- Customer-focused – able to understand the needs of Finance
- Problem-solver – ability to identify an issue from within the end to end process
