The Shaw Group has many major master plan communities underway or awaiting approval, many multi dwelling residential units to be built over the next decade, 13 manufacturing facilities mostly serving the construction industry, and five retail brick stores.
The Shaw Group is currently seeking a Financial Controller for its manufacturing division who will report to the Senior Vice President, Finance and will also work closely with the CFO and other financial leaders across the division. You will be responsible for helping to lead the accounting team within the manufacturing division and will contribute good ideas and reliable data to better inform decision-making and strategy setting for each of the business units within the Division. You will be a key member of the leadership team and responsible for providing accurate and timely financial information, developing and maintaining accounting policies, processes, internal controls, improved costing programs for the manufacturing operations, and helping to build consistent reporting across the Division.
The ideal candidate has a professional accounting designation (CPA) and a post-secondary degree, combined with 10 plus years of financial leadership experience in full-cycle accounting, preferably within a fast-paced manufacturing environment. You have a successful track record and expertise in helping to identify and drive value in an organization, as well as a reputation for being a trusted financial advisor who fosters strategic organizational growth and development and progressive change. You have a natural inclination to consistently look for process improvements, ROI business cases, and other strategies to improve the bottom line. You love to lead hands-on efforts of taking processes, policies, and procedures, and developing them into consistent and automated solutions that drive strategic and informed decision making. You are someone who is ambitious to progress in your career and highly motivated to rise to the challenge of making a lasting contribution to a growing and evolving organization.
