Job description: Based in Stratford, Ontario, the Stratford Festival is one of the world’s foremost repertory theatre companies. It operates year round, presenting a season of about a dozen plays each year between the months of April and November, a rich stream of digital content and hundreds of Forum events, designed to deepen understanding of the plays. For every person a theatregoer sees on our stages, we have seven people working behind the scenes, some of the world’s most dedicated and experienced arts workers. Forum Marketing Coordinator As the Forum Marketing Coordinator you will play a leading role in enhancing awareness, understanding and interest in the Meighen Forum.
The Meighen Forum fosters a deeper understanding and appreciation for the relevance of Festival’s work by situating plays in the context of contemporary conversations and current affairs. Come and help us deliver this vision. This stimulating and varied role offers plenty of opportunities to hone skills in the field of arts and events marketing, with the autonomy to be creative with shaping campaigns, making decisions and trying out ideas to generate the desired outcomes.
This position reports to the Direct Marketing Manager or designate and is part of the Marketing team. The positions works in close consultation with the Associate Producer Digital Programming and The Meighen Forum.

Responsibilities:

  • In consultation with the Direct Marketing Manager and Associate Producer Digital Programming and The Meighen Forum, plan and execute marketing strategies for The Meighen Forum events.
  • Prepare compelling and audience specific promotional copy for Meighen Forum events for use publications, email and social.
  • In collaboration with the Festival marketing and forum teams, brainstorm and deploy digital content (including written blogs, interviews, podcasts, social media, and video) that builds interest in key Meighen Forum events by drawing connections between the Festival’s playbill, Forum events and broader conversations going on in our culture and society.
  • Identify potential promotional partners and cultivate relationships with current and prospective stakeholders.
  • Update and posts content to third-party event listings and directories.

Requirements: Qualifications:

  • Two (2) years of experience working in a marketing or communications role, or similar function.
  • Post-secondary education in marketing, communications, journalism or arts administration.
  • Strong project coordination experience, including preparation and oversight of timelines, ensuring projects are completed on time, on brief, and on budget.
  • Ability to find relevant connections between artistic programming and current affairs.
  • Able to thrive in a fast-moving, collaborative environment.
  • Highly organized, detail-oriented, multitasker.
  • Self-motivated, takes initiative.
  • Confident, personable and persuasive communicator.

Preference will be given to candidates with experience working in the cultural sector, current affairs or news media.

Additional Info: This full time position is located in Stratford, Ontario and will begin in January, 2022.

Annual Salary: $40,331-50,414
