Job description:

• Operate truck in a safe manner in compliance with all regulations and company policies
• Provide waste/recycling removal services to customers by emptying trash/recycling receptacles
• Replace trash/recycling receptacles neatly at the curb or designated area
• Clean up of any waste spills and overflows
• Maintain and update route paperwork and driver logs
• Conduct pre/post trip inspections and complete logs
• Professional interaction with all customers
• Clean waste from the packer blade and truck body
• Other duties as assigned

Requirements

• Ability to read and understand a map
• Current clean Abstract/CVOR
• Ability to perform physical requirements of the job (prolonged physical exertions, including repetitive lifting, pushing, pulling and climbing).
• Ability to drive manual transmission truck
• General knowledge of truck mechanics
• Able to work overtime, weekends and/or holidays
• Must be able to work in all weather conditions
• Good written and verbal communication skills
• Previous driving experience preferred
• Waste industry experience an asset
• Additional skills may be required to perform additional tasks specific to work location and/or line of business

Work Conditions

• Will be required to work both indoors and outdoors
• Manual dexterity required to use desktop computer and peripherals
• Overtime as required
• Ability to lift up to 75 pounds repetitively
