Job Description:

The Group Benefits Administration Plan Specialist provides a positive Client experience by completing the successful set- up and revisions of group plans by inputting data on various systems. Working in a production-oriented environment, this role demands strong technical skills, ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously, an extreme focus on detail and quality, and completing work by necessary deadlines.

Main accountabilities:

Process new business and/or revisions within established service standards (accuracy & timeliness)

Set up and maintain plan coding on various systems

Promptly respond to inquiries from internal business partners, and Clients

Interpret plan design change requests; seeking clarification as necessary

Understand, analyze and make recommendations on system setups that support customer requirements

Partner with Service Representatives and Implementation Specialists to clarify plan design so that system setup is efficient and accurate

Manage work priorities in a multifunctional environment

Investigate and resolve escalated issues or complaints

Assess and negotiate target dates to meet customer expectations; demonstrate sensitivity to customer’s business needs

Participate in business unit projects as requested

Competencies:

Highly focused attention to detail with a proven track record of superior quality working in a production environment

Superior English verbal and written communication skills

Proven skills in customer service delivery

Negotiation skills with the ability to work towards acceptable outcomes; offer solutions

Analytical, organized, and a self-starter

Ability to multi-task to achieve delivery dates

Effective issue resolution skills

Effective in a team setting; but also able to work independently

Ability to work under pressure, manage shifting priorities, meet customer needs, and adapt to an ever-improving environment

For Quebec: Bilingualism (French, English) required- immediate manager is a unilingual Anglophone outside Quebec

Assets:

3+ years experience working in a production-oriented environment where high-quality data entry was required

Comprehensive knowledge of Group benefits and familiarity with common plan designs

Knowledge of Plan administration systems and their interdependencies;

An understanding of the sales office distribution network, sales practices and procedures

The Base Pay range is for the primary location for which the job is posted. It may vary depending on the work location of the successful candidate or other factors. In addition to Base Pay, eligible Sun Life employees participate in various incentive plans, payment under which is discretionary and subject to individual and company performance. Certain sales focused roles have sales incentive plans based on individual or group sales results.
