As head of manufacturing engineering and quality and a member of the management team at the St-Jean plant, you will play a strategic role and work in partnership with pluridisciplinary teams on major projects related to automation, the improvement of the efficiency of our manufacturing operations, and the integrity of our products.

Your responsibilities

  • Lead, supervise, and develop all the activities of continuous improvement, manufacturing engineering, and quality service.
  • Ensure the optimization of operations, including the analysis and recommendation of industry best practices in addition to ensuring the sustainability of projects.
  • Oversee the process of the design and automation of our manufacturing processes and equipment.
  • Propose new methods and procedures, together with the other directors, in view of optimizing the management process of the organization.
  • Coach and lead teams on projects related to process improvement, cost reduction, or customer satisfaction.
  • Maximize the use of Lean or Six Sigma tools in the execution of the projects (Source Cause Analysis, A3, SMED, Kaizen, DMAIC, Data Analysis, etc.).
  • Ensure that all the activities, policies, and procedures comply with the requirements of ABB’s environmental and quality system.
  • Analyze complex quality issues, participate in the process of solving these problems, make sure that the action plan is in place and that follow-up is ensured.
  • Act as a facilitator and agent of change to support the work teams in the various stages of the continuous improvement program and of change management.

Your background

  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • A bachelor’s degree in mechanical/industrial/electrical engineering or operations management.
  • Strong capacity for project management and supervision of multidisciplinary teams.
  • Mobilizing leadership and the ability to motivate resources to achieve the long-term goals and vision.
  • Experience in continuous improvement projects and change management.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and excellent communication.
  • Ability to work under pressure in a fast moving and constantly changing environment.
  • Command of the systematic problem-solving processes (Lean, Six Sigma, etc.).
  • Good knowledge of the Office Suite software.
  • Bilingualism, French and English, both spoken and written.
