Human Resources Business Partner

Musselwhite Mine

Purpose

We are seeking an energetic and dynamic Human Resources Business Partner to provide support for recruitment, performance management, compensation and rewards, benefits, and employee relations.

Responsibilities

  • Champion Inclusion and Diversity initiatives at the mine sites in partnership with the regional and site leadership team
  • Partner directly with Managers to provide customer focused HR support
  • Assist hiring Managers to identify recruitment needs and develop the appropriate recruitment strategy
  • Partner with Regional Recruitment Team to drive the recruitment process at the site level
  • Assist in the coordination of interviews for production and staff vacancies
  • Conduct new hire inductions and first-day orientation
  • Coordinate the development and review of role profiles, job postings and employee announcements
  • Support the benefits administration and communication process
  • Prepare HR reports when required
  • Assist with performance management processes for production employees
  • Coordinate career fairs and university recruitment campaign
  • Facilitate site HR program updates and training
  • Present HR-related information at crew line-up meetings
  • Respond to requests for information from Regional team
  • Support travel management

Requirements

  • Post-secondary education required, degree or diploma in Human Resources preferred
  • Attained or working towards a CHRP designation an asset but not required
  • Minimum 1-2 years Human Resources experience
  • Experience with HRIS and SAP would be a definite asset
  • Advanced computer skills; proficiency with Microsoft office suite
  • Demonstrated client service orientation
  • High level of emotional intelligence and ability to resolve conflict
  • Highly detail-oriented and able to prioritize to ensure deadlines are met
  • Excellent communication skills (verbal, written, listening)
  • Demonstrated presentation and facilitation skills
  • Ability to work within a diverse mix of cultures
  • Ability to communicate effectively with various leadership levels
  • Demonstrated confidence to push back and challenge the status quo
  • Experience in Heavy industries, including mining or natural resources sector an asset

Working Conditions

The work schedule for this position is 4 on, 3 days off, working 10-hour days at the Fly-In/ Fly-out Musselwhite Mine location from Thunder Bay, ON.
