Goodfood is currently looking for a Human Resources Business Partner to lead the strategic execution and day-to-day operations of Goodfood’s HR function in our facility in Calagary located at 572 Aero Dr NE #165, Calgary. We are seeking driven, experienced, high-performing individuals with a passion for HR, food, and cooking to make their mark in the dynamic world of startups and Canada’s culinary revolution.

Areas of Responsibility

The Human Resources Business Partner is the preferred point of contact between the business and the Human Resources function. The incumbent will advise on various HR subjects in order to support the achievement of the growth objectives of the company while respecting corporate values.

Talent Management

  • Advise managers on the proper management of individual and team performance with respect to certain labor relations-related decisions (e.g. performance management, disciplinary actions, labor laws and employment standards, promotions, remuneration, etc.)
  • Support the organization in the optimal management and development of talent
  • Develop and implement skill development tools, recommend workforce planning approaches and solutions, succession planning and retention strategies
  • Manage complaints, inform employees and act as an internal point of contact

Compensation

  • Advise managers on the application of best compensation practices by recommending approaches that strengthen compensation’s link with actual performance
  • Participate in compensation improvement projects

Training & Development

  • Evaluate training needs for partner groups; set up training content and disseminate this content within the business as needed
  • Implement, coordinate and lead employee on-boarding sessions
  • Support the production of training plans and post-probation follow-ups

General

  • Support organizational change initiatives by advising managers on what constitutes the communication plan, change stages and help to manage resistance to change
  • Advise managers on best practices in terms of team and organizational structure, taking into account management priorities and decision-making processes
  • Implement best practices for managing diversity and inclusion
  • Recommend and implement best regulatory practices such as pay equity, employment equity and continually stay up to date on British COlumbia Employment Standards
  • Responsible for related HR administrative tasks
  • Any other relevant tasks, as the position and organization are constantly evolving
  • Evening and weekend availability and meetings are a possibility

Requirements

The Ideal Candidate

  • Completed Bachelor’s Degree in Commerce or Business Administration with a specialization in Human Resources, Organizational Behaviour/Dynamics, and/or Industrial Relations
  • 3-5 years of experience in a Generalist, Advisor or Business Partner capacity
  • Strong adaptability, flexibility, and comfortable in a fast-paced, ever changing environment
  • Self-driven and self-motivated personality with a strong sense of initiative and the ability to autonomously under minimal supervision
  • Excellent organizational and prioritization skills with phenomenal time management skills
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, ability to tailor communication style to different audiences
  • Continuous improvement mentality and a logical problem-solving approach
  • Willingness and ability to learn new software, processes and concepts quickly
  • A passion for all things HR, organizational culture, food and cooking
