Supply Chain IT Analyst

(Permanent Position)

We are on a journey to modernize our custom-built applications and are looking for qualified, results driven employees who want to be part of a collaborative team that is transforming our Supply Chain Management future with the latest solutions from SAP, PSImetals, and in-house developments. In addition, we need individuals to develop and execute our improvement initiatives with a focus on continuous improvement and IT best practices.

This role will engage with the business areas, the respective managers and system users to define, design, implement, train, and provide on-going support of our IT solutions. This role will provide training to support industry specific planning & scheduling solutions, as well as the SAP S/4Hana, APO PP/DS, and IBP for our Supply Chain Management business processes and integration. Job Accountabilities:

  • Supply Chain subject matter expert within the Advanced Planning & Scheduling IT service.
  • Design, deliver, and support all Advanced Planning & Scheduling IT solutions.
  • Support and improve the following business processes: Sales and Operations Planning, Forecasting, Demand Planning, Capacity Planning, Production Planning, Detailed Scheduling, and Line Sequencing.
  • Support configuration, development, and integration of SAP APO PP/DS, S/4Hana, and IBP modules to meet business needs.
  • Support configuration, development, and integration of PSImetals Order Scheduler, mPlanner, and Line Scheduler products.
  • Provide day-to-day user support of the system including troubleshooting incidents, addressing change requests, and bringing to them resolution in a timely manner.
  • Work closely with business owners to identify improvement opportunities and serve as a champion for supply chain.
  • Utilize experience working with data and apply analytical techniques to deliver business value.
  • Remain engaged externally, maintain technical awareness, work with peer groups and academic centers of excellence to remain current with innovative mathematical optimization or predictive analytics solutions
  • Proactively identify and propose business process and/or system enhancements.
  • Prepare and maintain quality functional and technical specifications, work flows, data flows and required documentation as needed.
  • Understand industry trends, keep up-to-date and apply SAP leading practices within the SAP Supply Chain Domain by means of journals, suppliers, presentations, seminars, professional and society meetings (e.g. ASUG) and contacts with other users in the business internal and external to Dofasco.

Qualifications and Requirements:

  • Post-Graduate degree in Business, Computer Science, or Engineering with focus in Operations Research.
  • 0 to 5 years of relevant work experience in the field of Supply Chain.
  • Knowledge of the Supply Chain Management end to end business process.
  • Demonstrated organizational, analytical, decision-making and problem-solving skills.
  • Continuous improvement, results oriented mind-set.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication for technical and non-technical audiences, able to advise and mentor colleagues, and work with senior management on business transformation initiatives and improvement programs.

Considered assets:

  • Knowledge of PL/SQL and python.
  • Knowledge of SAP PP/DS.
  • Knowledge on Make-to-Stock, Make-to-Order, Engineer-to-Order manufacturing processes.
  • Knowledge of production planning concepts (S&OP, master planning, MRP, scheduling).
  • Change management, communications, and conflict management skills.
  • Process Manufacturing domain knowledge.
  • An active member of applicable peer groups and preferably maintains relevant accreditations (e.g., APICS accreditation of Certified Supply Chain Professional, Lean Six Sigma Black Belt).
