Job Description: The Faculty of Early Childhood Education at Langara College offers a Diploma in Early Childhood Education program, an online Early Childhood Education Certificate program and post basic citation programs in Early Childhood Special Needs Education and Infant and Toddler Care and Education.
The Early Childhood Education department faculty are committed to providing comprehensive and reflective education to early childhood education students in both the classroom and community practicum settings.
Faculty are responsible for: creating multi modal instructional design; consulting with the British Columbia Early Learning Framework; student evaluation; practicum supervision in community settings; holding on-campus office hours; and participating in team and faculty meetings.
Required Qualifications:
A minimum of 3 years teaching early childhood education courses to adults at a college or in-service work related training.
A minimum of 5 years’ experience working in an Early Childhood Education program with children, aged birth to 5 years of age.
A Master’s degree or equivalency (an undergraduate degree in a related field, plus 5 years’ experience working with children aged birth to 5 years).
Experience supporting and supervising students in their ECED practicum.
Full time work may be offered to the qualified candidate.
Salary Range: Salary placement is on Langara instructors’ salary scale in accordance with qualifications and experience.
