Job Description: The Faculty of Early Childhood Education at Langara College offers a diploma in Early Childhood Education, an online Early Childhood Education certificate program, and post basic citation programs in Early Childhood Special Needs and Infant and Toddler Care.
The Faculty Early Childhood Education is committed to providing comprehensive, student centered education to early childhood education students in the classroom and community practicum settings.
Early Childhood Education faculty are responsible for: delivering instruction using multi modal curriculum design; consulting with the British Columbia Early Learning Framework; providing student evaluation; holding on-campus office hours; and participating in team and faculty meetings. The successful candidate will supervise and support students in a practicum setting, will be able to teach all facets of both the Basic ECE and the Post Basic ECE programs, in both online and in person delivery models.
Additionally, the successful candidate will have knowledge and experience in the areas of infant and toddler care and supporting children with extra support needs and their families.
Full time work may be available to the successful candidate.
Required Qualifications:
A minimum of 3 years teaching early childhood education courses to adults at a college or in-service work related training.
A minimum of 5 years’ experience working in an Early Childhood Education program with children, aged birth to 5 years of age.
A Master’s degree or equivalency (an undergraduate degree in a related field, plus 5 years’ experience working with children aged birth to 5 years).
Experience supporting and supervising students in practicum.
Salary Range: Salary placement is on Langara instructors’ salary scale in accordance with qualifications and experience.
