We’re also looking at what’s next for you and how we can help you build a career you’re proud of. We are seeking an experienced Integrated Construction Technology Manager to support projects throughout our BC Region. This role may also be known as Construction Modeling Manager and BIM Manager.

As the Integrated Construction Technology Manager for our Richmond office, you will contribute to our team by:

  • Understanding the workflow, setup, and management of construction models. Has in-depth knowledge of the impacts of the detailing and the deliverables of these models.
  • Working with the field management and project management to produce work packages (ex: pour package, lift drawings).
  • Establishing and setting up the trade contractor model-coordination process, including shop and fabrication model review, and hands over to project teams, as required.
  • Ensuring multidiscipline construction models are current and project modeling standards are adhered to.
  • Supporting estimating with model quantity takeoffs and district preconstruction efforts (ex: design coordination, constructability review, project planning).
  • Creating and coordinating the processing of requests for information (RFIs) with project team.
  • Supporting the setup, management, and development of best practices of digital workflows/Business Technology (BT) systems at project level.
  • Supervising, directing, coaching, training, and mentoring the ITS employees daily and upon completion of their daily, weekly, and monthly tasks and yearly targets.
  • Establishing and managing the ITS budget, which includes special equipment, software, conferences, and training at project level.
  • Other duties as required.

Qualifications

What you will bring to the role:

  • Postsecondary degree, diploma, or 2-year certificate in a buildings-industry-related discipline (ex: architecture, engineering, and construction (AEC), civil, architectural).
  • 8 – 10 years of construction-related experience including 4 to 7 years of Viritual Design and Construction (VDC) related experience.
  • Intermediate understanding of construction sequences and intermediate knowledge of the building construction process.
  • Advanced understanding and training in 3D modeling software.
  • Ability to write a Building Information Model (BIM) execution plan and create work packages.
  • Ability to read the schedule, and understand the construction and scope to create and apply a VDC schedule.
  • Ability to coordinate with other department leads for planning and resources at the project level.
  • Ability to manage project-level VDC standards.
  • Experience with 4D scheduling software.
  • Experience with model validation as it relates to Level of Development (LOD) and accuracy.
