Canadian National Railway Company (CN) is looking for a highly motivated person to fulfill a full-time Intern, Procurement and Supply Management – Fuel, Transportation position in Canada for summer 2022.

Job Summary

The Intern, Procurement and Supply Management (P&SM) – Fuel, Transportation is responsible for working with Category Analysts and Managers to support and drive various projects. The incumbent collaborates with different teams, including Business, Legal, Compliance, or Finance to ensure that deadlines and deliverables are met. The role contributes to P&SM results while learning and gaining experience. The incumbent supports Fuel, which consists of diesel fuel, miscellaneous fuels, fuel intercarrier, and fuel reporting and Transportation, which includes crew services and Maintenance, Repair, and Operating (MRO).

Major Responsibilities

· Perform spend analysis for baseline on Category projects

· Conduct analyses for project recommendations

· Collaborate with Category to build requirements for Requests for Proposal (RFP)

· Work with Category in order to develop evaluation matrices, assessing proposals and recommendations

· Cooperate with Category in preparing Award of Business (AOB) deck

· Assist Category with closing gaps on compliance to Procurement Policy, reviewing expiring contracts, and assessing next steps

· Coordinate inter-carrier fuel settlements with foreign roads by leveraging the FI Cleaner (FIC) and Robotic Process Automation (RPA) tool

Requirements

· Applies critical thinking

· Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, and Word)

· Multi-tasking skills

· Demonstrates agility and drives change

· Knows the business and stays current on industry needs

· Fluently bilingual both written and verbal (English, French)

· Ability to work in a team

· Sourcing experience*

· Knowledge of reporting software Tableau*

Education

· Working towards a Bachelor’s Degree in Operations Management, Commerce, Finance, Computer Science, or equivalent

*Any experience/education/skills/knowledge for these above would be considered as an asset
