Job Summary/Purpose

The IT Business Analyst, Corrective Action Program (CAP) position is primarily focused on administration, execution, support, and driving the performance of the IT Corrective Action Program in the Technical Business Management organization. Focus areas include but are not limited to the administration, performance, and/or support of the IT Condition Review process, Corrective Action assignment, Causal Determinations / Analyses, Human Performance error reviews, assessments, particularly as part of effectiveness reviews and quarterly analyses, tracking and trending, and other related performance improvement activities.

Job Duties/Responsibilities

  • Daily administer, execute and maintain the IT Corrective Action Program (CAP) to Entergy fleet and regulatory standards, and ensure compliance with affected procedures. Act as a CAP point of contact to address any questions, concerns, etc., regarding the process or procedural requirements.
  • Prepare for, administer, support, and or lead the IT Pre-Screening Board and Condition Review Group meetings ensuring appropriate assignments, categorization, and timeliness of response based on significance of issue including whether or not it is a regulatory / reportable issue. A primary responsibility for this role will be administration of the CAP software tool, PCRS.
  • Perform and assist in the performance of causal determinations, human error reviews, assessments, particularly as part of effectiveness reviews, quarterly analyses, and closure reviews.
  • Work with department performance improvement coordinators (DPIC) and other Points of Contact to screen, disseminate, and track reports, evaluations, and corrective actions. This also includes ensuring actions are completed by the assigned due date or extended appropriately (per procedure).
  • Ensure trending is performed of issues identified in CAP, including extent of condition, extent of cause, and organizational and programmatic issues. Ensure trend codes are entered for applicable Condition Reports.
  • Work with manager to develop, track, and maintain a dashboard / set of metrics to drive and sustain high levels of performance.
  • Regularly coach, train, and communicate with IT personnel on process requirements, expectations, and trends for CAP and related programs (i.e., Human performance, assessments, etc.).
  • Interface with other Entergy BU CAP groups and regulatory and industry representatives on behalf of all of IT to remain transparent and seek best practices for continuous improvement.

Minimum education required of the position:

Bachelor’s degree in IT, Engineering, Technical Field, other related discipline / field generally associated with electric utility operations, or equivalent work experience.

Minimum experience required of the position:

2+ years of experience

  • Electric Utility / Energy Industry Experience
  • Broad working knowledge of IT Enterprise and Solution Architectures and delivery methodologies including applications, infrastructure, integration, security, real-time/operational technologies, etc.
  • Leadership experience (leading teams, i.e., root cause analyses, projects, implementation of a new or upgraded program, etc.)
  • Performing Causal Determinations / Analyses; Assessments, CAP processing, tracking and trending
  • Working in a compliance regulated environment
  • Requiring knowledge and experience in own discipline; still acquiring higher-level knowledge and skills
  • Impacting a range of customer, operational, project, or service activities within own team and other related teams; works within broad guidelines and policies

  • Regulatory Compliance (i.e., RFP, NERC / CIP, NRC, SLA, etc.)
  • IT Technical background
  • Risk Management

Any certificates, licenses, etc. required for the position:

Cause Analysis, Decision & Risk Management, Human Performance, and / or Assessment / Audit training or certifications a plus
