Job description: Successful candidates will work with clients within the financial services industry to help define, develop, and deploy industry-leading solutions. As an experienced project management practitioner, you will lead highly visible client engagements with one of Canada’s largest financial services firms. In this role, you are accountable for having a solid understanding of the strategic direction and business goals to execute agreed-upon deliverables.
You will have access to the latest technologies, tools, and robust processes, including agile methodologies. You will also be collaborating with experienced colleagues around the world.
Your future duties and responsibilities:
- Negotiate and lead large complex projects (above 10,000 effort days and 10-30 project team members, with multiple work locations).
- Develop, deliver, and manage financials/budget (resource plans, effort estimates), statements of work/contract, delivery quality, and integrated project plans (work breakdown structures).
- Institute and lead appropriate project governance; develop and manage executive-level client and vendor relationships.
- Manage third party vendors and offshore development teams.
- Proactively anticipate risks, organizational challenges, and develop mitigating strategies.
- Provide thought leadership to identify and develop new business opportunities.
Required qualifications to be successful in this role:
- Demonstrated success leading and managing several large, complex, multi-phase projects across organizational boundaries with a minimum of 5 years of program or project management experience in the financial services industry.
- Exceptional client relationship management and negotiation skills.
- Demonstrated experience in evolving strategic positioning to support business needs
- Ability to manage large teams (over 30) and build highly motivated and empowered professionals.
- Extensive management experience in application development methodologies and standards, including agile methodologies.
- PMP or equivalent certification.
