How will you contribute?
Under the supervision of the Chief of Staff to the Clerk of the Senate, the incumbent provides the administration, and coordination related to the Senators Attendance Policy. This includes maintenance of the electronic attendance system and revisions to the electronic and paper-based information management system for the Office of the Clerk. The incumbent also provides administrative support services to the Clerk’s office which include functions relating to the Standing Committee on Rules, Procedures and the Rights of Parliament, support to the Executive Assistant to the Clerk of the Senate and any special projects assigned by the Chief of Staff and the Clerk.
The successful incumbent will bring expertise to a broad range of administrative areas and must possess a strong ability to communicate effectively across numerous channels, demonstrate a high level of autonomy, and be able to effectively manage a variety of administrative tasks.

Prerequisites
- Successful completion of a post-secondary diploma in business administration or a related field OR an acceptable combination of education, training and relevant experience;
- A minimum of three (3) years’ experience in a administrative position;
- Experience in managing information in a senior official’s office, such as processing, coordinating and formatting correspondence, monitoring a senior official’s email inbox;
- Possess excellent verbal and written communication, organizational and time management skills;
- Demonstrated strong attention to detail and ability to compile, analyse, prepare, organize and maintain information in an efficient manner;
- Demonstrated ability to work simultaneously with different groups in a multi-disciplinary environment with conflicting priorities;
- Ability to demonstrate initiative;
- Proficiency with MS Office products;
- Experience working in a parliamentary environment is a strong asset.
