A national firm located in the beautiful city of Surrey, BC, is currently looking to add either a Senior Corporate Services/Records Legal Administrative Assistant OR a Senior Corporate Services/Records Paralegal to their team! This is the perfect opportunity for those who are looking to work closer to home and join a firm that values its employees’, their career growth and long-term stability with the firm! The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 4-5+ years of experience in a similar role.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Preparation of documents in relation to commercial transactions including incorporation and organization of BC and Federal Companies, corporate and tax reorganization, amalgamations, share and asset purchases including due diligence, share structure and article alterations, share allotments and transfers, dissolutions and restorations, name changes, and redemptions/ repurchases.
  • Administering clients’ files including file opening (conflict searches, client identifications and other tasks), scanning documents, filing (primarily electronically), billing and file closing
  • Maintenance of ALF including inputting changes/updates
  • Updating and filing the virtual minute books for all companies, including scanning and document splitting
  • Liaising with client and auditor/accountant inquiries in a timely manner
  • Other duties that are within the scope of your role

Education and Qualifications

  • Legal Administrative Assistant AND/OR Paralegal Certification
  • A minimum of 4-5+ years of experience as Corporate Records Legal Administrative Assistant OR Paralegal
  • Comprehensive understanding of the Business Corporations Act (British Columbia), the Canada Business Corporations Act and the Societies Act (British Columbia)
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, ALF and BC Online
  • Strong written and verbal communication and outstanding attention to detail
  • A self-starter who is comfortable with taking responsibility and enjoys working as part of a team
