Responsibilities
Under their scope of practice and in collaboration with patients and the health care team, the Licensed Practical Nurse provides care for patients with defined health challenges and predictable outcomes. As the acuity or complexity increases and/or outcomes are not predictable, the LPN, under the supervision of the Registered Nurse, provides nursing interventions, within their scope of practice. The RN retains accountability for the assignment and/or delegation of patient care activities to the LPN, but the LPN is accountable for individual actions or practices.
Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited program for Licensed Practical Nurses
- Current registration (or eligibility) with Nova Scotia College of Nurses (NSCN)
- Current CPR certification
- Competency in medication administration
- Experience with Alzheimer’s and other related Dementias an asset
- Demonstrated clinical skills
- Demonstrated effective communication and interpersonal skills
- Able to work independently and as part of a team
- Experience working in a team environment
- Competencies in other languages preferred, French an asset

Hours of Work
- Long Assignment Full-time Position; 75 hours bi-weekly

Salary Information
$28.3268 – $30.4229 hourly
