The Dogwood model combines large-scale citizen engagement and recognition of Indigenous land rights with non-partisan political organizing, all of which is underscored by a commitment to continual improvement through testing and analytics.
We have an opportunity for a talented individual to coordinate Dogwood’s logistics program for our Citizens Initiative campaign to stop Kinder Morgan’s pipeline project. This work will play a key role in sustaining Dogwood’s grassroots campaign teams who will gather signatures necessary to force citizen-led legislation protecting health and waterways from big oil projects.
The ideal candidate will be an organized, detail oriented, and passionate British Columbian with experience managing complex projects on tight deadlines.
Reporting to the Director of HR and working closely with staff, volunteers and Dogwood supporters in several ridings across the province, the Logistics Coordinator will:
- Develop and implement a logistics plan for the efficient delivery of up to 10,000 canvass kits to all of BC’s 87 ridings;
- Price and source all needed materials for canvasser kits;
- Support field team requests for physical and digital materials;
- Physically assemble canvasser kits for field teams across the province, tailoring packages to different regions;
- Develop a system for the distribution of canvasser kits and badges on an ongoing basis in advance of and during the Citizens Initiative;
- Work with complex files from Elections BC and ensure that the correct canvasser badges are delivered to canvassers across the province.
Desired Qualifications:
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are essential
- Prior experience with effective time management and prioritization is essential
- Customer service experience a considerable asset
- Inventory tracking and management experience a considerable asset
- Ability to organize and maintain detailed records; complete necessary paperwork and meet deadlines
- Willing to adapt quickly to changing procedures
- Proficient in MS Office programs and the Google Suite of Apps, and willing to learn new programs as needed
- Able to work effectively as part of a team in a fast-paced environment
- A demonstrated passion for politics, democracy and the environment.
Dogwood Initiative offers a flexible and rewarding work environment. Some evening and weekend work will be required.
