Job description: Adecco is currently hiring a full-time Logistics Coordinator in Ottawa, ON. In this role you will ensure customer satisfaction (both internal and external) through the timely movement of product. This role requires knowledge of moving freight and working with customs officials to clear incoming and outgoing shipments in a timely manner. Responsibilities: * Package finished product and prepare shipping documents (including B13/CERS), commercial invoices, packing list, bill of ladings, etc.
- Provide shipping and receiving services for a variety of groups and oversee the functions surrounding coordination of trade shows, return materials authorization (RMA) parts, and new product introduction processes (NPI)
- The go-to person for questions from our Corporate Trade Compliance team. Responsible for working with internal colleagues from various departments (Sales, Engineering, Procurement, Manufacturing) to provide timely answers
- Monitoring and controlling the transportation of products to and from our customers while providing superior customer service
- Work with Customs officials to clear incoming and outgoing shipments quickly. Work with necessary parties to expedite shipments as required
- Ensure stock levels of shipping materials is accurate and order to replenish materials to ensure no interruption of service to customers
- Investigate, cost, and recommend proper packaging requirements for all products. This includes the coordination of testing to ensure the packaging will provide the necessary protection
- Act as a key contributor to the Company’s NPI process ensuring that all shipping, packaging and logistics requirements are resolved. Must work in a cross-functional team environment to be effective
- Responsible for the creation and maintenance of documentation surrounding all shipping/receiving processes
- Issue POs to vendors for shipping related supplies
- Work with warehouse personnel to ensure inventory system (finished goods and raw materials) is maintained and accurate
- Responsible for the sign off on any Warehouse inventory cycle count variances and coordinate recounts as required before the inventory is adjusted. Lead the investigation of discrepancies as needed
- Find ways to improve the organization of warehouse or procedures to increase efficiencies and minimize errors
- Must maintain a positive attitude and lead by example in a very dynamic and fast-paced environment. Have an “easy to do business with” attitude
- Load and unload delivery trucks as required
- Sort shipments by carrier and distribute received product as required
- Maintain all files and records for audit purposes
- Utilize the company’s ERP system (SAP S/4HANA) to track all pertinent information surrounding outgoing and incoming shipments, status of incoming RMA’s and their disposition
- Ensure that the shipping area is organized, properly maintained and debris/trash are disposed of daily
- As part of the company’s focus on quality and continuous improvement, this position is also responsible for ensuring that processes are reviewed and improved as needed to ensure timeliness, cost savings and overall customer satisfaction
Requirements: * Thorough knowledge of worldwide shipping and receiving processes and procedures including an understanding of how to use the Canadian Export Reporting System (CERS) Portal
- Knowledge of the logistics of international freight and customs handling
- History of working with both FedEx and UPS carriers
- Ability and experience in managing up to 45 shipments per day
- Multi-tasking experience in a fast-paced environment
- Excellent organization, planning and time management skills
- A self-starter, proactive person who displays initiative.
- Negotiation skills to work with different suppliers to reduce costs
- Strong computer skills including experience with Excel/Word/Outlook
- Detail oriented with a focus on accuracy
- The ability to work both independently and in a team environment is essential to be successful in this role
- An appreciation of the important role that shipping and receiving, RMA tracking and related freight-handling issues play in after-sale service and support
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Must be able to communicate with all employees, customers, and vendors in a professional manner, and to preserve company confidentiality when dealing with outside individuals
- Ability to lift heavy boxes and material, up to 50 pounds
- Must be legally eligible to work, and reside in Canada
- Prior experience using an ERP system – experience with SAP would be an added benefit
- Experience working in a ‘clean’ lab area would be an asset
- Experience with ShipExec™ SAP Client is an asset
- Exposure and/or knowledge of Canada’s Controlled Goods program and other export and import regulations is an asset
- Steel toed boots/shoes must be worn in warehouse area
- Must possess a valid passport and drivers license
