Job description: The Logistics Coordinator will be responsible for managing and optimizing all logistics processes. The successful candidate will work closely with the procurement and sales departments to ensure that all shipments are executed in a timely and cost-effective manner.

What you’ll do

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate all shipments of purchases from suppliers
  • ensuring all consignors have required details about carrier, consignee, and pick-up details
  • booking all appointments for deliveries
  • provide receiving department with the details of the shipment
  • Coordinate all the shipments of sales to customers
  • ensuring all freezers have required details about carrier, pick-up details, and consignee
  • eleasing products from cold storage facilities through collaboration with inventory management and sales department
  • ensure all deliveries are appointed
  • confirming all deliveries are on time and without damage
  • Coordinate and mange shipments of packaging materials from manufacturers to suppliers
  • Manage all imports and exports with regards to customers clearances
  • Manage all aspects of the Seafood Import Monitoring Program (SIMP)
  • Negotiate rates for shipments
  • Identify and strategize efficient shipping strategies to improve costs and delivery times
  • Work closely with Inventory Manager to keep inventory levels accurate
  • Communicate all delays or variances to the appropriate parties in a timely manner

What you’ll need

Qualifications

  • Post-secondary education
  • 5+ years experience in logistics or supply chain
  • CCLP or SCMP designations are an asset
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office
  • Incredible attention to detail and commitment to seeing many individual tasks through to completion with a sense of urgency
  • Proven ability to build strong relationships with shipping providers and cold storage facilities
  • Strong written and oral communication skills with the ability to collaborate with others and ensure the effective flow of information
  • Logical approach to identifying and solving problems. Must be able to use data along with insights from colleagues to find effective solutions.
  • High level of integrity and the ability to build relationships and gain trust quickly
  • Exceptional time management and organizational skill
