We are currently recruiting for a Logistics Planner (12-month contract) to join our Operation support team in Mississauga, Ontario.

Accountability Objective:

Reporting to the National Logistics Manager, this position ensures the correct mix of resources (driver, equipment) for the efficient delivery of product, maximizing assets, while minimizing distribution costs.

Major Responsibilities:

  • The planner will monitor / review / analyze customer usage.
  • Review/update trips to ensure accuracy and customer needs.
  • Maintain effective communications with drivers, equipment suppliers, sales, plant personnel and the garages and resolves issues in each area to achieve lowest distribution costs.
  • Analyzes asset utilization and distribution costs, making adjustments to the distribution plan to meet agreed upon distribution costs.
  • Plan just in time deliveries to Linde customers in an effective and reliable manner based on a detailed knowledge of government regulations (Canada/US), driver hours of service guidelines, equipment and product availability.
  • Analyze and manage plant inventory’s ensuring moving of product to needed regions while minimizing product cost.

  • Proficiency in French is considered a strong asset

Qualifications:

  • Degree/Diploma or equivalent experience in Logistic / Production planning or related discipline.

Nature and Scope:

An in depth knowledge of trucking operations, driver interface, equipment specifications, costs, union and governmental rules and regulations are essential for successful implementation of logistics plans.
