Job Summary

This role is responsible for leading the Logistics Processes and Projects team in the day-to-day oversight and management of Logistics processes globally. They will ensure the maintenance and improvement all Logistics related processes, SOPs, WIs, policies and procedures.

The incumbent will act as the intake gatekeeper for all projects, assignments and changes to priorities for any work to be assigned within Logistics Processes and Projects (LPP). They will assign and allocate the appropriate resources to projects or tasks within the team to ensure the most efficient completion of assignments, manage critical incidents, day-to-day task assignments and priority setting, training development, training delivery for Sampling and eWDR Trackwise processes, training plan assignments, performance management and attendance management. They will ensure that work is completed as per cGMP, corporate change control policies and any other regulatory requirements.

This role will function as the Chief for the Organizational Unit and manage all of the related tasks, including training assignments and documentation approvals in accordance with corporate policy.

Act as a Logistics Processes and Projects subject matter expert (SME) with regards to Sampling processes, eWDR Trackwise system, ERP system functionality, system enhancements, projects and process improvement initiatives, technical support, quality investigations, and training.

Provide direction and support to stakeholders regarding Logistics processes supporting key business areas including Quality Assurance, Production, Packaging, Commercial Operations, Regulatory Affairs, Logistics Warehouses and DCs and others.

Job Responsibilities

  • Accountable to ensure all requests of LPP are delivered as per customer service level targets, new product launch timelines, and all business objectives.
  • Accountable for developing LPP procedures, reporting systems, resource lists/files, and storage ensuring access for all team members.
  • Act as a Project Manager or team member to support organizational requests for assigned projects, by developing and implementing strategies within the group to ensure project goals are met.
  • Utilizing LEAN methodologies and sound project management principles, develop, implement, and maintain processes to support optimal Logistics processes resulting in more efficient work flow, continuous improvement and compliance.
  • Accountable for the function and operation of all LPP supported and managed systems including Sampling (NIR, TruScan), Order Express and eWDR Trackwise.
  • Participate in developing and implementing cross-functional project teams, process maps, RACI (Responsible, Accountable, Consulted and Informed), Communication Matrices and continuous improvements for any related assigned projects.
  • In response to Compliance and Quality Departments, ensures the appropriate response to Regulatory Inspections and Inquiries related to assigned systems and processes.
  • Reviews and updates employee development plans, ensuring that all employees are properly trained and qualified to execute their duties.
  • Assists in implementing and monitoring progress against strategic plans to achieve the company goals and objectives.
  • Lead performance conversations with employees, including monthly one on ones, to connect on performance; check in on progress toward achieving Objectives, offer support and remove barriers; and, communicate and revisit performance expectations to encourage high performance culture and a safe working environment for all employees.

Job Requirements

  • BS/BA Degree in Business, Engineering or a Supply Chain/Operations discipline; Supply Chain certification (APICS, CPIM) and Lean Six Sigma certification or training would be an asset.
  • Minimum of 5 years relevant supply chain experience in a regulated manufacturing environment; experience in the pharmaceutical industry would be an asset
  • Minimum of 2 years relevant supervisory/team leadership experience
  • In-depth knowledge of supply chain modules in ERP system is required for this role; experience with SAP (MM and WM modules) is highly preferred.
  • Good understanding of Business processes and regulations in the pharmaceutical industry desired.
  • Strong knowledge of project management principles and the ability to manage several priorities.
  • Advanced knowledge of relevant Logistics areas, including integration and support with other departments.
  • Experience with and knowledge of Change Control Systems and processes would be an asset.
