Job description: Adecco is currently hiring a Machine Operator-Manufacturing for our Medical Manufacturing client in Ottawa West. This is a 1-year contract opportunity offering full time hours, Monday – Friday. Hourly rate of pay is starting at $22 per hour.

As a member of Engineering Services team, the candidate will contribute to the Research and Development team’s success by supporting multiple project teams, simultaneously.

Machine Operator Responsibilities:

  • Set-up and operate all machine shop equipment to produce standard and custom machined parts per required specifications.
  • Provide support to the R&D project teams by machining various parts and handling outsourcing when required.
  • Advise R&D Engineers, Scientists and Technologists on part/feature design with respect to machining methods.
  • Perform preventative maintenance on all machine tools.
  • Manage inventory of stock materials.
  • Maintain a clean and safe work environment and observe all EHS and other safety rules and procedures.
  • Safeguard the environment and facilitate a safe and healthy workplace culture
  • Other miscellaneous duties as may be required.

Machine Operator Requirements:

  • College Diploma (2 year program), or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum 1-3 years relevant experience in a regulated manufacturing environment.
  • Programming of EdgeCAM or similar 3D Computer-Aided Manufacturing program.
  • Ability to plan, organize and prioritize own daily work to meet established schedule.
  • Mechanically inclined and adept at learning with a high level of initiative and attention to detail.
  • Demonstrated problem-solving and trouble-shooting skills.
  • Ability to prioritize work and balance a workload of multiple projects.
  • Ability to clearly, concisely and accurately convey communications.
  • Ability to form and develop interpersonal, professional relationships; display socially and professionally appropriate behavior.
  • Ability to work independently and in groups.

Familiarity with any of the following areas would be an asset:
– Experience using SolidWorks or similar 3D Computer-Aided Design program
– Knowledge of GMP
