Job title: Maintenance Manager (Pinnacle Hotel at the Pier)

Job description: Pinnacle Hotel at the Pier is searching for a hands-on experienced Maintenance Manager to oversee the operations of our Maintenance Department. Reporting directly to the General Manager, the Maintenance Manager is responsible for the strategic planning of all engineering and general maintenance functions for the hotel.

Key Responsibilities:

· Manage the preventative maintenance program of all building equipment, guestrooms, public areas, and back-of-house spaces.

· Troubleshoot and repair malfunctions in mechanical and electrical systems e.g. HVAC, plumbing etc. and other equipment throughout the hotel.

· Communicate with hotel department heads to become aware of all maintenance needs.

· Enforce safety regulations, investigate incidents, assign work duties and assist staff as required.

· Actively supervise and inspect ongoing work of hotel maintenance staff.

· Identify and coach staff on opportunities to improve their skills and quality of work.

· Oversee the hotel’s Health & Safety Committee.

· Lead special projects and regular property maintenance.

· Perform additional duties as assigned. Job Requirements/Qualifications:

· 1 – 3 years previous experience at a supervisory and/or management level, preferably within an upscale hotel environment.

· Demonstrated knowledge of all applicable Provincial and Federal laws and legislation.

· Working knowledge of electrical, fire, and health & safety protocols.

· Technical knowledge of electrical, HVAC, refrigeration, plumbing, city steam heating etc. critical to the operation of the building.

· Working knowledge of water treatment programs, blueprints and wiring schematics, power and hand tools, and other technical trade-related equipment.

· Excellent communication, time management and decision making skills.

· Ability to effectively lead and direct others.

· Technologically savvy, strong knowledge of all Microsoft Office software.

· Maintains a flexible schedule to meet the business needs of a 24/7 hotel environment.

· Must already have necessary documentation to work legally in Canada. Job Application Process:
