Key Accountabilities:
- Accountable for the successful execution of the department’s annual business plan and overall strategy by motivating and influencing the team to deliver a remarkable member and partner experience, acquire and retain profitable business, grow market share, and acquire sustainable growth, while also ensuring operational efficiency and proper risk management practices are in place.
- Ensures prudent pricing behaviors/strategies and effective cost management to drive smart profitable growth that achieves and exceeds business unit contribution objectives.
- In collaboration with the Director, Product Strategies, develops long-range operating plans, budgets and programs, and ensures successful execution.
- Contributes to the development of a multi-year strategy to expand Connect First’s leasing program, including the development of programs to support equipment and machine financing.
- Develops and assesses new business relationships, partnerships, and other opportunities through business development initiatives, while supporting every step of the sales process; analyzes other new partnership opportunities to leverage Connect First’s strengths and bring in incremental business.
- Acts as the main point of contact during contract negotiations with new dealer partnerships; oversees the operational relationship agreement.
- Actively seeks feedback from network (dealers, clients, and other centers of influence) on products and overall satisfaction of the delivery of service offerings.
- Monitors and identifies industry trends and emerging issues or obstacles and recommends action to both capitalize on opportunities and effectively manage evolving risks.
- Ensures the team’s portfolios receive ongoing attention to maintain, improve, and foster dealer relationship.
- Ensures a high level of employee capability and engagement by setting individual goals and objectives, developing and coaching direct reports, continually assessing and improving levels of performance, supporting ongoing employee development and career planning, providing frequent feedback and guidance, and taking action to close any identified gaps.
- Leads change within assigned area of oversight, by encouraging and influencing staff to embrace new processes, technology, and business systems.
- In partnership with Risk & Credit Services, contributes to the maintenance of an acceptable quality credit portfolio and client base, with established parameters for underwriting.
- Monitors the analysis, structuring and presentation of credit proposals, integrity of risk ratings, and exception conditions specified by underwriters, auditing and compliance.
- Ensures all credit decisions and recommendations are made in accordance to sound credit-granting principles; ensures compliance with regulatory policies and guidelines.
- Proactively identifies and acts upon non-Auto & Lease service sales opportunities; partners with the appropriate sales teams including retail, small business, direct finance (mortgages), investment, and others to solicit and provide referrals as appropriate.
- Maintains a high market profile within the assigned market area with both internal and external contacts by identifying key business contacts and centers of influence within the market, representing the credit union in the community, regularly assessing local competition, and identifying and capitalizing on local market opportunities.
Experience and/or Educational Requirements:
- 8 years’ experience in Auto & Lease lending in Financial Services and/or Auto industry.
- Minimum 5 years’ demonstrated experience in a management role.
- Proven ability to achieve sales goals and recognize new sales opportunities.
- Proven success in business growth, as well as establishing member and community relationships.
- Working knowledge of industry trends and offerings.
- Completed a relevant certificate, diploma, degree or designation program.
- An equivalent combination of education and experience may also be considered.

Work Conditions:
- Must be able to work flexible hours based on client availability.
- Role may have an extensive travel requirement; a valid driver’s license and reliable vehicle is required.
