Job Description

The candidate will report to the Director of Accounting and Reporting (A&R), Wealth and Asset Management (WAM) North America. The team consists of members in both Manila and North America whose primary role is to produce accurate, timely and relevant company-wide Assets under Management and Administration (AUMA) reporting within the Global Wealth & Asset Management organization. Monthly processes provide both internal and external partners with AUMA information, including flows and various classification details. As the team transitions to using more advanced, real-time data repositories, the team will transform into a data steward role, which will be responsible for the maintenance of daily data, as well as advanced self-service report design to allow internal customers to retrieve complete and accurate data as they need it.

Key Accountabilities

Manage a team to establish data governance for all GWAM and Manulife Investment Management (MIM) products. This team’s role is to review all figures (AUMA, flows and business attributes) and reconcile back to supporting records for reasonability, onboarding of new products, maintaining attributes, and adding business administrative changes. This includes having a completeness check that looks at numbers from the Data Lake to review decks, corporate cubes, and databases for reporting purposes

Preparation for monthly fund business activity – including launches, terminations, and large transactions

Perform database maintenance upon business updates and changes using internally developed tools (ORDR)

Implement completeness checks for Data Lake, working papers/review decks, and finance databases

Review and reconcile datasets/extracts and support team in various monthly and quarterly reporting to groups throughout MIM and Manulife

Create/maintain strong business relationships with all business partners including operations, systems/engineering, and GWAM teams

Administrative processes that include attestation with business owners for approval of numbers

Develop/Perform controls and ensure compliance with company accounting and finance policies and procedures

What we are looking for

University degree in business, finance, or equivalent

Minimum 5 years of relevant working experience

Intermediate to advanced knowledge of MS Excel (i.e., mastery of Excel formulas and pivot tables is a must; macros and VBA are a plus). Proficient in MS Office suite including Outlook, Word, and PowerPoint. Knowledge of Power BI is a very strong plus and will be a requirement of the role

Strong technical, data and reconciliation skills

Experience in data oversight and governance

Ability to work in an ambiguous environment and adapt to change while managing workload with bold timelines

Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work effectively across cultures.

Attention to detail and ability to learn

Ability to be agile, multi-task, efficiently prioritize and organize, and handle multiple partners

Ability to work/adapt with a team/independently and establish priorities to meet deadlines

People management skills to oversee and guide a small team on a consistent basis
