Job Summary:

Reporting to the Integrated Director of Pharmacy Services, the Pharmacy Distribution Manager will assist the Director to execute the daily distribution operations of the Pharmacy department which includes inpatient units at both the KW and Freeport sites, the Emergency Department and Ambulatory Clinics while operating within approved operational budgets and financial guidelines and controls. The Pharmacy Distribution Manager will work closely with the Pharmacy Leadership Team (PLT) members to ensure optimal patient care outcomes through effective management of pharmacy medication distribution services and the development and implementation of strategic direction, goals and objectives for the pharmacy services

Key Accountabilities and Responsibilities:

  • All tasks related to the management/supervision of our Regulated Pharmacy Technicians as well as Pharmacist and Technician learners. This includes orientation, training, performance management and scheduling
  • Operations management
  • Resource Management
  • Quality Assurance/Risk Management
  • Collaborative Communication
  • Planning and Innovation
  • Student/New Staff Orientation and Training
  • Advocacy for Professional Practice

Qualifications:

  • Graduation from an accredited Pharmacy Technician program
  • Current registration (in good standing) as a Pharmacy Technician with the Ontario College of Pharmacists
  • Canadian Association of Pharmacy Technicians membership preferred
  • Three years recent related hospital pharmacy experience
  • One year in a supervisory capacity or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Excellent problem solving skills and demonstrated initiative
  • Good knowledge of Microsoft Office – Word, Excel, Power Point, Outlook
  • Proven good attendance record
