Job Description
Reporting to the Director of Training and Development, the Manager, Sales Enablement Learning and Development Distribution is accountable for developing a learning strategy to align with the business growth and strategic priorities of our Insurance and Group Benefits Sales Teams, as well as the Continuing Education content for Advisors of this audience. As a trusted partner and peer, this role will provide leadership and direction to deliver targeted and effective learning experiences and development programs for Insurance and Group Benefits sales teams and advisors.
This position will require a leader who can set out clear expectations, define action plans and participate in analyzing, designing, and leading all aspects of the implementation of learning programs and experiences. Strong communication and organization skills are vital to the successful partnership between the team, vendors, internal business units and cross functional partners. Key Accountabilities
Provides forward-thinking leadership to team of training consultants and designers and ensures collaboration and continuous improvement
Create a culture where team members can experiment, propose new ideas, test solutions and ultimately innovate the way they work as a unit
Tracks ROE on programs with data analytics specialist
Identifies and builds opportunities to demonstrate economies of scale.
Has Product, systems and tools expertise and finds opportunities for training solutions in order for Sales to demonstrate capabilities
Leads all aspects of digital onboarding process and ensures we are collecting and implementing feedback
Administers content and content strategy within micro-learning tool
Builds strong working relationships with cross functional teams such as marketing and underwriting, to locate commonalities and share adult learning expertise as require
Strategic direction and delivery of multimedia sales support and presentation materials to support sales teams in achieving sales results, development goals and productivity gains.
Shares learning standard methodology with business leaders on how to improve and enhance learning support, specifically CE opportunities for advisors in all distribution channels and for Manulife sales professionals
Represents Training and Development and provides expertise on several project planning committees, anticipates training requirements and makes recommendations on level of training needs and delivery method Qualifications:
3-4 years of work experience as a people-leader, leading a team of learning professionals
5-10 years of work experience in a learning development role, successfully developing and implementing effective learning solutions to meet business needs, including in-depth understanding of current and emerging issues and trends in e-learning theory, research, and practice
Post-secondary education or certifications in adult education, instructional design, or education technology
Strong communications and social skills with the ability to create and build working relationships across all areas of the organization, in a professional manner.
Strong idea generator who is able to identify and recommend new ways to share key information to our partners, including senior management and employees.
Knowledge and application of adult learning theory, training methodologies, learning technologies, online course development, and measurement strategies
