INVISTA (Canada) Company’s Kingston Site located in Kingston, Ontario has an opening for a Manufacturing Advancement and Analytics Intern. It is one of the city’s largest employers with over 700 employees dedicated to the production of quality products used in the automotive airbag, carpet fiber, and engineering polymer industries. As part of Global Research and Development Team, you will have the opportunity to leverage INVISTA’s data assets – thousands of sources and billions of records from across our operations – to improve the company’s business performance.

What You Will Do In Your Role

  • Develop hypotheses against prioritized opportunities, design rapid experiments, and embrace the peer challenge process with intellectual honesty to deliver value.
  • Collaborate with technical, operations, data scientists, IT, and business resources. Work with a sense of urgency, applying critical and economic thinking to create sustaining value solutions.
  • Advance digitization strategies to modernize manufacturing sites and the way R&D performs its daily work. Seek out and apply emerging technologies in business intelligence, autonomous systems, sensors, analytics, and robotics.
  • Utilize designed experiments and data analytics to advance site manufacturing processes, new product developments, and other R&D activities.
  • Analyze large data sets to generate knowledge systems that present actionable information.
  • Document test work through reports and program review presentations.

The Experience You Will Bring

Requirements:

  • Currently enrolled or recent graduate of a University Engineering degree program.
  • Experience coding in a mainstream programming language, such as Python or C.
