The manufacturing cell engineer (MCE) is working for the components repair engineering group. During his mandate, he must coordinate the support to his dedicated production cell. Typical processes used at Rolls-Royce Canada are machining, polishing, welding, heat treatment, thermal spray, shot peening, cleaning, surface protection, etc.
The coordination task consists in making sure that all the employees have all they need to deliver what we are expecting from them. The MCE must assure the shop has the proper training and skills, that clear and complete processes and procedures are up to date.
The working environment must be safe, and products protected against manipulation damage or transportation. Consumable products must be approved and available, tooling must be adequate, well maintained and calibrated.
To ensure the quality, the integrity of the product and the customer satisfaction, the cell engineers must work together with different departments: tooling, continuous improvement, quality, engine lines and the original equipment manufacturer (OEM).
Finally, the engineer must support the growth of the company by the implementation of new repairs, machines, processes and practices. Several tools are available to solve the variety of problems, but the best allies of a manufacturing cell engineer will always be his professionalism, his responsiveness and his ability to innovate.

Key Accountabilities:
Develop, implement, maintain and continuously improve on-site repair processes and/or methods of repair which are capable of meeting and continuing to meet requirements for quality, cost, delivery and lead time.
Create, maintain and/or govern elements of the Technical Package (FAIR, S&MC, validation reports, …) which clearly define the repair process and administer effective change control in line with applicable QMS requirements.
Engage as necessary with relevant interfacing teams (Operations, Quality, Metrology, Maintenance, Customer Business etc), to ensure technical aspects of repair processes are understood and accounted for as required by QMS direction.
Follow and lead CA&PI processes for the implementation of new equipment with relevant interfacing teams.
Identify opportunities for new or improved repair processes to meet current or future business requirements in line with new product introduction requirements

Basic Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree and 2+ years’ experience in a manufactory environment OR
Master’s degree in manufactory engineering
Preferred Requirements:
Fluency in written and spoken English and French
